Work Song by Ivan Doig

Ivan Doig is a great storyteller. This story takes place in Butte, Montana in 1919 after World War I.  Morrie Morgan, the central figure becomes embroiled with Anaconda Mining, its miners, and all the citizens of Butte.  He comes to life on the first page as he arrives without his luggage.  Ivan Doig's words carry you along at a rapid pace until all at once you are at the end of the tale.  As with every Doig novel, you get a real feeling of the west.  A delightful read.
