Empty Storefront Next Door, Nevermore sayeth Bank Square Books

The Space Next Door

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 22nd at 5pm

Dear loyal customers and friends of the written word,

BSB is excited to announce that after a year of perseverance
and negotiating we have signed a lease on the empty storefront next door
to our existing store.
The two stores, owned by the same
landlord, are connected through an open doorway which will enable us to
make this one larger store with a dedicated event space and office
upstairs with window views out onto Main Street.

The new space will most likely become the children's department. Our
entire space will become more open with additional lighting and
comfortable seating for reading. Industry wide reports show that 21% of
book sales come from displays and this expansion will allow us to have
additional open displays throughout the store.  Look for more book
related sidelines and display areas for our best selling items such as
Out of Print Clothing and Pam Zagarenski's Sacred Bee cards and art.

It is not without hard work and courage that we take this step
to expand, but more importantly, this leap is possible because of your
support. For that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We
continue to love what we do. Our commitment to downtown Mystic is
stronger than ever and we are humbled that we will be able to occupy a
more prominent storefront on Main Street in Mystic.

We have scheduled a tentative opening reception for Tuesday October 22
at 5 pm with our first event, a celebration of the first ever hardcover
from Europa Editions, "The Last Banquet" by guest of honor British
author Jonathan Grimwood. Stay tuned.

Here's to the future of locally owned and fiercely independent book selling!
