***CANCELED*** DPNC: Stanley Kolber (Of the Birds According to their Kinds) Photography Talk & Book Signing

***THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 18***

Join Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center and Bank Square Books for an evening of conversation with local author and photographer Stanley M. Kolber. Enjoy a preview of images from his book “Of the birds according to their kinds”, and hear what inspired his career change from practicing law to photography. “Of the birds according to their kinds” is filled with artistically rendered photographs and engaging prose, not a field guide, but a path to greater respect for birds as a source of abiding wonder.

Click here to register. Books will be available for signing and purchase after the program. This program meets at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, located at 109 Pequotsepos Road in Mystic. Tickets are a $10 donation to DPNC.

About the Author:

Stanley Kolber was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and now resides with his wife, Christina Clayton, in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Although he had been birding for many years, it was not until 2001 that he undertook photography as a second career after many years practicing law, in part propelled by the destruction of his World Trade Center office on 9/11. His work includes abstract forms from nature, wildlife, and images shot in New York City. His first love was birds, which continues to be his primary focus.

Kolber’s photographs are held in private and corporate collections, and have been accepted in juried exhibitions in Chelsea, N.Y., The Salmagundi Club of New York, and the Mystic Museum of Art in Mystic, CT. His work reflects a spiritual bond to the natural world and is informed by a belief that we are stewards, obliged to defend and protect its creatures.
