Savoy Bookshop and Café presents an open house book signing featuring Jason Lourenco for his book, The Ties that Bind; the Path from Pearl Harbor to 9/11/2001. This event is free and open to the public.
About the Book
The Ties That Bind; The Path from Pearl Harbor to 9/11/2001 attempts to pull on the historical thread binding this complex, interconnecting period in world history. This work attempts to clarify the relationship between the two seminal events by focusing on the context within their sixty-year timeline, more-so than the minute details of the planning and execution often associated with their discussion.
The story begins with the military rationale for attacking Pearl Harbor. It then proceeds to the Allied victory in World War II, the post-War establishment of the State of Israel, the major events of the Cold War, and ends with the fateful attacks on the World Trade Center & Pentagon. Readers young & old are sure to gain a fresh, new understanding of this period, along with its lasting impact on contemporary society.
